T: The -ed forms not only can be used as adjectives, but also can be used in past tense. But when should we use past tense?

(It should have the past time, like recently, during the day, one night, a long time ago, etc.)

1. Get the students to find the time expressions that appear in "My First Ride on a Train".

2. Ask the students to try to remember, without looking back, what events they referred to in "My First Ride on a Train".

一般过去时：

（1）一般过去时主要表示过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态。

Their children often went hungry in the old days.在旧社会,他们的孩子经常挨饿。

（2）与一般过去时连用的时间状语
